30+ years’ experience with national and international operating companies (including in Myanmar, Australia and Qatar) and service companies (including Schlumberger and Senergy) working internationally, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East.  Relevant experience in complex lithology, clastics and unconventional geological environments; field studies involving tens to hundreds of wells.

Geology, reservoir description
Nearly 20 years’ postgraduate experience. Relevant experience in reservoir description including core description, 3D geological modelling (stochastic and object workflows) and uncertainty management. Well versed in integrating reservoir data and building fit for purpose geological models, even if only paper logs and maps are available. Also has well planning and wellsite geology experience.

Petroleum engineering, reservoir modelling, reserves
Practising Petroleum Engineer with 20 years’ experience. He has broad in depth experience across the business, from compliance (Reserves, reporting) to development (field development planning, reviews) and operations (workovers, new wells, optimisation). Worked with many operators delivering advisory services and reservoir modelling and monitoring solutions for their assets. He has delivered training courses for National Oil Companies and Independents on a wide range of topics, tailored to their specific objectives and learning requirements. He is the principal architect of the Hands On Training Courses.

Petroleum engineering, production technology, analytics
Production Technologist with 30 years’ in the industry. He is ex Woodside from the North Rankin Development days (having designed the original North Rankin well completions). He pioneered the Goodwyn gas medium bore and big bore wells, and was involved in the development well design for Laminaria-Corallina. Recent focus was on developing data analytics workflows for reservoir management.

Geomechanics, reservoir engineering, production engineering
Paul teaches the Geomechanics for Reservoir Management Hands On Training course modules. He is a seasoned professional with nearly 30 years' experience in the oil and gas industry. He is a specialist in reservoir geomechanics, pressure transient analysis (PTA), displacement in waterflooding/EOR, sand production/control, and integrated reservoir modelling / (assisted) history matching. He is the "founding father" of various Shell proprietary workflows and software in the geomechanics, reservoir engineering and production engineering domains, and (co-)author of 85 external publications. Within Shell, Paul conducted numerous studies in the areas of geomechanics (hydraulic fracturing, sand production), Reservoir Engineering (displacement, PTA, assisted history matching, IOR/EOR), production engineering (artificial lift, production optimisation) and business planning.
He is a Steering Committee member for numerous SPE conferences, workshops and forums. He was co-chair of 2015 SPE European Formation Damage Conference. He is associate Editor of the SPE Journal and winner of 2009 SPE Cedric Ferguson Award and 2012 Shell RE Business Impact of the Year Award.
